Cricket Club

Welcome to Newenden, home to one of Kent’s most successful village cricket clubs.

Founded in the heart of our village, Newenden Cricket Club offers a picturesque setting for both playing and watching cricket matches. Our history runs deep, dating back to 1300 when ‘Creag’ was first played here, as recorded in the ‘Wardrobe Accounts’ of King Edward I.

Great Facilities at NCG

We are proud of our club amenities, which include practice nets, changing rooms, and a pavilion designed to enhance the experience for players and spectators alike. Whether you’re a seasoned cricketer or just want to enjoy a game on a lazy Sunday afternoon, there’s no better place than the Newenden Cricket Ground (NCG).

Newenden Nomads Hockey Club

In addition to our cricketing legacy, Newenden is also home to the Newenden Nomads Hockey Club, which we founded in 2019. This club has quickly gained momentum, securing three consecutive titles as we climb through the Kent League, currently playing in Division 5. During the winter season, our hockey club calls Cranbrook School home on Saturdays.

Join Our Sports Community

Both clubs are incredibly inclusive, always on the lookout for new talent. If you’re interested in becoming part of our cricket or hockey community, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Contact Phil Morris at 07495 616 895 for more information and to get involved with either club.
